🎈 Hillcrest Elementary’s “Balloons Over Broadway” Display 🎨

Our second graders at Hillcrest Elementary have brought the magic of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade to life with their Balloons Over Broadway art showcase!

Inspired by the beloved story of puppeteer Tony Sarg and the creation of the iconic parade balloons, students designed and decorated their own miniature “balloons,” now proudly displayed along the second-grade hallway. Each balloon reflects student imagination—bright colors, creative characters, and thoughtful details that make this hallway come alive.

Classes from across the building have been invited to walk through the display, and students have loved celebrating one another’s creativity and hard work. This project blends art, literacy, and joy, bringing our school community together just before the holiday season.

A huge thank-you to our second-grade team for bringing this tradition to Hillcrest and for giving our students such a meaningful, hands-on learning experience.
